La nerolina, un éter,   importante ingrediente en muchos perfumes. aunque su acción no es la de añadir una olor a la fragancia. esta sustancia actúa como fijador, encargándose de mantener a todos los demás ingredientes unidos al disminuir la velocidad de evaporación de la mayoría de los compuestos volátiles. Si un fijador como la no está presente, la fragancia de un perfume complejo cambiara con el tiempo cuando los aceites más volátiles se evaporen y dejen atrás sustancias menos volátiles, cambiando las proporciones exactas de cada aroma. Native to Australia, the Nerolina is wild harvested, though plantations are being developed. Known as the broad leaf tea tree, this plant is viewed as probably the sweetest smelling of all the tea trees.
